After School enrichment opportunities

Community Education offers after-school programs designed to be both fun and enriching for kids. We offer a variety of programs for all ages and interests.

If you have an idea for a class or would like to teach a class, we would like to hear from you. Please contact the Community Education Director at (218) 998-0544, ext. 9200.

Youth Mentorship

Research shows that when a student has at least three caring adults in his or her life, they build a store of positive assets that boost self-esteem and empower them to make good decisions. School District 544 has several programs that utilize volunteers.

Adopt-A-Class

With your help and involvement, business/classroom partnerships are created for students in Kindergarten through 6th grade. As a participant in the Adopt-A-Class program, businesses can:

  • Explain their business to students

  • Invite students for a tour

  • Display work done by students

  • Provide a volunteer on a regular basis

  • Assist occasionally with special projects

The cost of the partnership is $100, which goes directly to the business/partner's assigned classroom.
